Don’t forget about winter treatments
Pruning saws and one- and two-handed shears are the tools you will need most in January, the month of the winter shutdown of the plants in your garden.
- Cut the central branches of shade trees (acacias, maples, oaks, beeches, etc.), which will not suffer (acacias, maples, oaks, beeches…), which now will not suffer in the least.
- Also you should also remove the inner branches to the top of the fruit trees, so more light will enter and you will achieve abundant harvests.
- Tighten up straggly shrubs or with post-flowering fruits that consume nutrients: this is the case of roses, berberis, cotoneaster viburnum, etc.
- Don’t forget to close pruning wounds with healing paste and maintain winter mineral oil treatments to your trees and shrubs.
- Transforms branches, bark, leaves or mulching material from pruning branches, bark, leaves and fruits.
